The Listening Machine – a signal from the Zeitgeist

This project is approaching some of the concepts being considered for The Sound of Memory.
In Summary, 500 unsuspecting twitter accounts are being monitored and the content is filtered, analysed and re interpreted into a musical stream, in real time.
This connection of social media behaviours and music deals with conversation and context rather than memory but the compositional technique is not dissimilar to what is proposed for TSOM. It is interesting to note the composer has “locked in” an orchestral palette, no doubt to facilitate the connection with Britten Sinfonia.

Appears to be a digital interpretive piano style system generating note data from patterns – perhaps some interesting principles to be looked at for the machine
